choo choo sad and gonkies

First let me warn you that this post will contain a whole lots of RANDOMNESS! both in text, and in pictures. As usual I havent been that great about takin pictures. So most of these are from the same day.

Cami is growing wonderfully, and at her two year checkup, these were her stats:
Height: 34 " (38th %)
Weight: 28 lbs. 4 oz (62nd %)
Head: 48 cm (55th %)

These past two months have been the most fun as far as watching Cami grow. She is so big and has really improved in her speech lately. She is starting to pronounce the consenants at the end of a word, and her pronunciation of the vowels has really improved. She loves to sing her ABC's. She cant sing it correctly on her own yet but shes getting better and better every day. Weve been working on the alphabet a lot lately and shes really doing well with it. She can recognize T, O, P, B, C, J and Y and points them out to us as we read books or watch educational shows. She also recognizes many shapes such as circle, square, star, and heart. we are working on others. She is doing great with her colors. If you ask her to point out a color, she gets them right 100%. However, if you ask her to NAME a color, she always says yellow. We need to work on this more :). She has been behind in talking so I guess that would explain it. Shes so smart though. I know she knows everything, she just isnt quite there with the speech part. She will get it sooner or later :).

She also says some stinkin funny things that keep Ryan and I laughing all day long. Cami is very in tune with peoples feelings. She watched Thomas The Train a few weeks ago for the first time and LOVES IT. In one of his episodes someone is sad. Well, ever since then, she has walked around the house randomly saying "choo choo sad, awwwwwwww" with the most sincere look of sadness across her face. Its hilarious. We made sure to catch it on video. Ill post it soon. Lately, everything has been sad. Its her new favorite emotion.

She likes to play with her "gonkies". Somehow when we moved our "little people" manger scene got opened and cami has decided that the donkies are her new favorite toys. She always plays with them and she asks ryan to play "gonkies" and climbs up on him for a ponyride. Its adorable. She also plays gonkies with her ponys she got for her birthday. Cami takes after her daddy in the way of animal sounds. Ryan makes THE BEST horse sound ive ever heard. Its not only realistic but VERY funny. Cami can do it now and its really fun to watch her play with her ponys and making horse sounds.

Cami loves to strike up conversations with random strangers in the park or wherever we may be. Miss social pants had a complete conversation on her own today with someone in our parking lot while we were walking to the pool. We were both wearing our bathing suits and sandals. This lady walks down her stairs and makes her way to her car. Cami YELLS "HIIIIII". she says hi back. Cami says "i go pool" the lady says, how fun! you are lucky. cami then says(while pointing) MY suit, MY shoes. I go play pool" the lady laughs and tells her to have fun. Cami SCREAMS "OK BYEEEE". This happens often with people shes never even seen. Its too funny.

While im talking about swimming, cami got a puddle jumper for her birthday from my grandma. Its the most awesome little swimming floatie ive ever seen. After 3 times of taking her to the pool in it, she is comfortable enough to let go of us and swim on her own. She needs no help from us, and she loves it!

Cami often comes into our room once per night. Its funny to hear her, open your eyes, look at her and see that she is half asleep, but still made sure they gathered her blanket, sippy cup, baby, a donkey and a toy car (she calls them wheels) all in her arms before coming in to try to sleep with us. We pick her up and put her in her bed and she rolls over and shuts her eyes. Its almost like shes sleep walking because she is completely incoherant when she comes in. Its pretty darn cute.

We have netflix on our xbox, so we get lots of childrens shows for free. There are a few shows that she absolutely loves. One of which is Elmo. Or as she would call it, MEMO. Weve been trying to get her to say ELMO, "cami, say EL". she says EL. "say MO". she says MO. and when you ask her to say elmo, she still says MEMO. its funny. There is also this show called shaun the sheep. Cami is obsessed with it, and im sure it has a lot to do with the fact that ryan cant stop laughing whenever he watches it. Its claymation about sheep and puppies who live on a farm and do silly things. there is absolutely NO talking in this show. random music, animal sounds, and yeah. you get the picture. Doesnt it sound like a fun show to watch? Well, this type of show is right up ryans alley. Normally inanimate characters being animated. Seen WALL-E? ... anyway, its called shaun the sheep. No matter how many times we tell cami its a sheep she comes to us and says "cow movie please!!!". cami its sheep. COW. sheep COW!!!!! Cow movie please!!! Ok i cant stop laughing right now so hopefully its funny to all of you... or maybe you'd have to be there.

Ryan and I are bad parents. Mainly because of the words we use that we are realizing that we use by hearing our daughter repeat them. Whenever something is rediculous, Ryan and I always say "thats so gay". well. Cami now runs around saying the word gay. Lately shes taken to using the word "I" with it. So yes, she runs around the house saying "i gay, i gay, i gay" hmmm.. what to do about this?!?!?!? .. we really need to be better examples.

She also loves to jump. She likes to climb on all furniture and jump off, no matter how high it is. She used to say "i jump" when she wanted us to hold her hand while she jumps off of something. now she says "i jump high". the higher the better for her, really. she loves heights.

Cami has been picking what she wants to eat lately. she will choose almost everything she eats throughout the day (and surprisingly its not always junk food). I bought string cheese last time at the store, rather than the usual cheddar block that I buy. So when she asked for cheese, I would give her a string cheese. After a couple days of eating 1 bits and then refusing to eat any more, she learned to ask for "yellow cheese" instead. We have been sick lately in our house, so we have been coughing a lot. (cami never got it, thank goodness). Ryan and I are STILL coughing from it. She likes to point out that we cough and then repeats the cough sound.

If one of ryan or i take a nap throughout the day or fall asleep on the couch, she walks up to us and yells in our face "WAKEY WAKEY WAKEY!!!!". She randomly asks to go to the beach, she sings into the fan while its on to hear her voice shudder. the words she sings are ALWAYS "baby CRY!"Cami has always had dance moves, but recently she has really excelled in that area. She now knows how to 'SHAKE HER BOOTY', and does it very well :). If she wants our attention and we cant give it to her right away, she walks up to us and turns our head so we are looking at her. She also yells "HEY!!!!" if she wants our attention.

Cami can now undress herself and take off her diaper. Lately she has been very interested in potty training (YAY!!!!). She always says "i potty too" when we go to the bathroom so we let her sit on the toilet and wipe and flush. she likes feeling like a big girl. we borrowed the elmo potty time movie from a friend and its really had an affect on her. We will be attemtping the potty training soon! We will be so glad to not do the diaper thing anymore :).

MINE is still her favorite word, and telling her not to say it only makes her say it more. so we have taken a different approach and teach her to say it in a nice tone. so she says it all squeaky and sweet on occasion. Cami can say her own name and tell people that she is 2. Her new favorite treat is my little pony fruit snacks. She kisses our owies to make them feel better. She asks "whats that?" to almost everything. She has picked up the word "why" from a friend of hers who will be 3 soon. she doesnt understand when to use the word, but she walks around saying "why, why" all the time :).

I cant think of anything else. Once again, i need to blog more often. Hope you all enjoyed these fun little facts about our sweet cami. Stay tuned. I will get that choo choo sad video up soon.
